Dutch Eurovision song revealed: Trijntje to sing Walk Along
Next year’s Dutch entry for the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna was presented on Thursday, with critics describing it as a ‘catchy pop song’ and a ‘clear hit’.
‘Walk Along’, written by Anouk, will be performed by Trijntje Oosterhuis, who started her career in a girl group before moving to soul and Bacharach classics. Trijntje has also changed her name for the contest to Traincha, to make it easier for foreign pronunciation, the NRC reports.
Anouk ended years of Dutch failure to qualify for the finals at Eurovision in 2013 and ended ninth with her song Birds. Last year, Ilse DeLange and Waylon came second with Calm after the Storm.
