Baby’s body found in rubbish bag in Breda
The body of a newborn baby has been found in a rubbish bag left in a hallway in a block of flats in Breda, news agency ANP says on Wednesday.
Police say evidence which they found with the body means the mother is likely to need medical attention and must go to a doctor.
The body of the baby was found around midday in the flats in the Breda neighbourhood of Haagse Beemden.
Police have begun an investigation and are appealing for witnesses.
This is the third time in recent weeks that babies have been found abandoned outside and the fifth time a dead baby has been found in 2014.
At the beginning of December, the body of a baby was found in a park in Alkmaar, while in October a live baby was found in an underground rubbish container in Amsterdam west.
