The Netherlands deports Russian hacker to the US
The Netherlands is to press ahead with deporting a Russian national suspected of hacking to the US, the NRC reports on Tuesday.
Russia had also requested the man’s deportation but justice minister Ivo Opstelten has given preference to the Americans. Russia and America do not have a deportation treaty.
Vladimir Drinkman has been in custody in the Netherlands for 2.5 years. He was arrested on the request of the Americans in June 2012 and is suspected of involvement in the theft of 160 million credit card numbers, the NRC says.
