The director of a charity raising money for the muscle disease ALS, who was sacked for stealing €92,000, repaid the money by stealing from another charity, the Telegraaf said on Thursday.

The ALS foundation’s former director Eric Nolet was sacked at the beginning of this year when the theft emerged. But he remained treasurer of a foundation for a Rudolf Steiner clinic and, the Telegraaf said, stole around €100,000 from that charity to repay the ALS money.

Nolet has described the financial transactions as a loan and says he has reached an agreement with the clinic to repay its money. Both foundations are considering taking legal action against him, the Telegraaf said.
