Rotterdam attracted 29 international companies last year

Last year, 29 international companies set up shop in Rotterdam, creating 2,700 jobs and investing €161m, the city’s investment agency says on Friday.

Over the past four years, more than 100 companies have made Rotterdam their base, many of which came from Asia, the RIA says. In particular, Chinese firms have created 6,000 jobs and invested over €500m.

Most of the companies have some form of relationship with the port and are active in trade, energy or logistics.
