Inflation rose slightly to 1.7% in December

Inflation rose by a marginal amount to 1.7% in December, the national statistics office CBS said on Thursday.

The rise in the retail price index was driven by more expensive petrol and lower discounts in the end-of-year high street sales, the CBS said.

Measured in European terms, the Dutch inflation rate is 1.4% well above the 0.8% average in the eurozone.
