Eight out of 10 Dutch people use the internet (almost) daily
The Dutch are among the most active users of internet in Europe, with 83% saying they are online daily or almost every day, according to Eurostat research.
The Danes are slightly more likely to use internet on a daily basis – at 84%. Luxembourg is third on 82% and Sweden fourth with 81%, the Eurostat research shows.
The research also shows 95% of Dutch households have internet access, which is the highest percentage in Europe. The lowest percentage is in Bulgaria, where 54% of households have internet.
Almost one in eight Dutch people say they have used internet to contact the public authorities and services. Just 5% of the Dutch have never been online.
