Speed limit goes up to 130 kph on more roads this weekend
The maximum speed limit will go up to 130 kph on more Dutch motorways this weekend but motorists face a plethora of differentiated limits, motoring organisation ANWB warns.
While some motorways allow drivers to travel at 130 kph limit on some stretches, in built-up areas speeds are reduced to as low as 80 kph to meet sound and pollution levels.
According to transport ministry figures, some 45% of the country’s motorway network will have the higher speed limit. Experiments with 130 kph on a few roads have been running since last year.
