Somali asylum seekers leave their camp in Den Bosch
The Somali asylum seekers who have been camping out on the steps of the immigration service offices in Den Bosch since Monday started breaking up their camp on Thursday morning.
The Somali nationals are cross at their treatment and want leave to stay. The Council of State says they cannot be sent back to their homeland because it is too dangerous, but immigration minister Gerd Leers is unwilling to change his policy.
On Wednesday, the Council of State told the minister he must adjust his deportation policy in this case to take into account how westernised the Somalis have become and if they could survive in areas under the control of the Islamic fundamentalis group Al-Shabab.
Early on Thursday morning the police arrived to break up the camp which is blocking the doorway of the immigration service.
After discussions between police and asylum seekers, the Somalis agreed to move on. They were taken by bus to the Ter Apel refugee centre.
