No vote on Van Gaal plan at Ajax members’ council meeting
The meeting of Ajax’s 24-strong members’ council on Sunday will not include a vote about the position of the club’s supervisory board, according to a statement on behalf of the council.
However, supervisory board chairman Steven ten Have and three of the four other members will be questioned about their decision to appoint Louis van Gaal as general director, without involving fourth member Johan Cruijff.
There will also be a general discussion about recent events at the club, the statement said.
Anger
Cruijff is known to be furious about the way he was sidelined over Van Gaal’s appointment. Cruijff, a former Ajax player and Dutch international, said on Friday he will quit if members fail to back him.
According to the AD, Cruijff will also address today’s meeting.
A vote on the performance of the supervisory board will now not take place until December 12 at the earliest when the club’s AGM takes place, the Telegraaf said.
