Football club PSV posts €15m loss
Eindhoven football club PSV booked a loss of €15.5m in the 2010/11 season, a slight improvement on the €17m loss the previous year.
Turnover rose from almost €52m to €55m but costs also rose – to €59.3m.
In June, Eindhoven city council agreed to buy the ground under the Philips stadium and its training complex for €49m in an effort to ease the club’s problems.
According to the Dutch football association KNVB, just five of the country’s 36 professional clubs are financially healthy.
