Dutch finance minister is no big hitter, says Financial Times

Dutch finance minister Jan Kees de Jager is in 11th place out of 19 European finance ministers in an annual ranking by the Financial Times.

De Jager is in 10th place in terms of his political skills and 12th for his economic performance but sixth in terms of reliability, giving him 11th place overall.
The list is headed by Sweden’s Anders Borg followed by Germany’s Wolfgang Schauble and Poland’s Jacek Rostowski.
‘Disappointed ministers can cry foul,’ the FT says. ‘The judging is inevitably subjective – and is not meant to be taken too seriously. Rating Europe’s fiscal masters makes refereeing a controversial offside in football look easy.’
