Opposition MPs warn Rutte: euro plan must be concrete for our support

The opposition parties in the Dutch parliament have warned prime minister Mark Rutte they will only back a new bailout plan for Greece if it contains concrete measures.

‘We will not support a vague compromise that hides opposing standpoints,’ Ronald Plasterk, Labour’s financial spokesman says in Monday’s Trouw.
The cabinet needs opposition support because its alliance partner, the anti-Islam PVV, is opposed to any more support for Greece.
Majority
The Labour party was instrumental in ensuring a majority for the previous rescue package in June.
At the weekend, Jolande Sap, leader of GroenLinks also warned the prime minister he could not count on her party’s support.
European leaders are expected to reach a new deal on Wednesday after a weekend of talks . The deal needs the unanimous support of all members to come into effect.
According to Dutch media reports, the agreement is likely to include support for the Dutch suggestion to create a new European Commission post with special responsibility for ensuring monetary union rules are adhered to.
