Refugee centre boss put on ‘gardening leave’
Asylum seeker centre boss Nurten Albayrak has been temporarily relieved of her duties, the NOS reports on Tuesday.
Albayrak, whose controversial managerial style put her in the spotlight earlier this month, has been accused of giving false information about her income.
Immigration minister Gerd Leers last week announced he would investigate complaints made against Albayrak by the centre’s employees. He also said he would reduce her salary to around €192,000 – the same as the prime minister and the agreed maximum for public sector employees.
