Cable firm Ziggo books sharp growth in turnover
Cable company Ziggo booked a 7.6% increase in turnover in the second quarter of this year at €364m. Operating profit rose 7.1% to €207m over the year.
The company is currently under fire for reducing the size of the analogue television package it provides subscribers without cutting the price.
Ziggo says nearly two-thirds of its subscribers are now digital viewers. It is cutting analogue services to free up capacity to expand its digital selection.
The company, which has over three million subscribers, is owned by private equity groups and is being prepared for a stock exchange listing.
