300 home care workers sacked for refusing lower pay
The government’s UWV jobs agency has approved redundancy requests for 294 home care workers who refused to accept new contracts on lower pay, news agency ANP reports.
The Viva care group wants to cut pay rates because local authorities are reducing their spending on home care services. Workers who refused to accept a new contract are now being sacked.
ANP said the UWV approved the sackings because there is enough evidence to show the company has been forced to reorganise its activities.
Unions are considering taking legal action against the company.
