Just 13% of the Dutch eat meat every day and two-thirds of people see meat as a luxury rather than a necessity, according to a poll by Motivaction for environmental group Natuur & Milieu.
Some 4% of the population is vegetarian.
The poll coincides with the start of a campaign by Natuur & Milieu to increase the number of what it calls flexitarians and boost the choice of meat replacement items in supermarkets.
