ING writes to monied clients about bonus policy
ING has written to all clients with a corporate bank account or personal financial adviser to outline why the bank’s board decided to forgo their bonuses this year, the Financieele Dagblad reports.
The letter has been sent to 300,000 account holders and follows reports that hundreds of customers have left the bank after it emerged CEO Jan Hommen was to get a €1.25m bonus.
The letter was published last week in the Volkskrant newspaper.
Meanwhile, central bank president Nout Wellink told the Telegraaf that the ING board had delivered a ‘formidable performance’ to get the bank up and running again.
