Holiday entitlement mounts up – on average 18 days

Dutch workers had an average 18.5 holiday days each saved up at the end of 2010, according to research by employers organisation AWVN.

Those days will come on top of the 2011 legal entitlement to 20 days – which can be as much as 35 days when work reduction schemes are taken into account.
The AWVN wants to make holidays an issue at the next round of pay and conditions talks. The AWVN has a role in drawing up around half of the country’s pay deals (CAOs)
