Sinterklaas chocolate letters go green
Nearly all the chocolate letters on sale for this year’s Sinterklaas celebrations come from sustainable or fair trade sources, according to Oxfam Novib.
Some 22 million of the 23 million letters which will be bought this season are all or partially sustainable products, Oxfam Novib says. Last year, the figure was 3.5 million.
Last year, most of the country’s retail groups pledged to make a total switch to sustainable chocolate letters by 2012.
