Media concentration law scrapped
The new government is tearing up the 2007 media concentration law which bans media groups from owning more than 35% of the newspaper market.
Media minister Marja van Bijsterveldt said the future of regional newspapers was at risk because of the ban. In addition, the competition authority would make sure companies did not abuse their positions, she said.
