The Hague opposes government’s bus and tram contract plan
The Hague city council has voted unanimously to lobby the new government not to force it to contract out public transport services, news agency ANP reports.
The new coalition plans to make The Hague, Rotterdam and Amsterdam put their bus and tram services out to competitive tender.
But The Hague says it has doubts about the need for a tender process in 2012. Many councillors are worried services will get worse if a private company takes over.
Amsterdam is also opposed to tendering.
