Tripoli crash families get €20,000 initial pay out
The families of the 70 Dutch nationals killed in the Tripoli air crash are being given an initial €20,000 to cover immediate expenses, airline Afriqiyah Airways said on Tuesday.
The cash should not be seen as an admission of guilt because ‘the cause of the crash still has to be established,’ a spokesman said.
Researchers have so far established that a technical failure is unlikely and there is no evidence the crash is terror-related.
In total 103 people were killed when the plan crashed before landing at Tripoli airport in Libya. One Dutch boy survived.
