Small firms are main jobs motor, says Máxima

There must be more done to stimulate medium-sized and small firms in developing countries because of the important role they play in combating poverty, princess Máxima said at a conference in The Hague on Wednesday.

Small firms are the most important in creating jobs in poor countries, Máxima, a former banker, told her audience at the congress, entitled Growing SMEs, It’s Time to Invest.
Máxima addressed the conference in her role as UN special advisor on ‘inclusive finance’.
