Four arrested for European patent office scientist murder
Four people have been arrested in The Hague in connection with the murder last December of Italian scientist Antonio Ferrigno, news agency ANP reports.
Ferrigno, 54, worked for the European patent office for 25 years as a patent examiner and specialist in nuclear medicine.
His body was found at his home in Rijswijk by family members on December 24, tied up and ‘in a pool of blood’, the Telegraaf said at the time.
The four who have been arrested are aged between 25 and 32. Police have declined to give more information but do not rule out further arrests, ANP said.
According to the Telegraaf, a Dutch police team asked for help from the Italian authorities in solving the case in January.
