National government has reduced its workforce by 6,600 over the past two years, acting home affairs minister Ernst Hirsch Ballin told MPs on Thursday.

This means the government is slightly ahead of its targets, the minister said.
Reducing the size of the civil service is central in many political parties’ manifestos for the June 9 general election.
