Woman gets four month in jail for blackmailing prime minister
A 48-year-old woman has been given a four month jail sentence, three months suspended, for attempting to blackmail prime minister Jan Peter Balkenende by accusing him of sexual intimidation.
Cornelia van den B. wrote to the prime minister threatening to go to the police with the claims unless he paid her a cash sum.
She will not serve any time in jail because she spent 70 days in custody in the run up to the trial, the Telegraaf reports.
