´Rich people should pay higher fines´

Rich people should pay higher fines for breaking the law than poor people, according to orthodox religious party ChristenUnie, currently part of the coalition government.

The proposal is outlined in a party document on tackling crime and increasing personal safety published by the party on Wednesday.
The party also wants tickets for football matches and pop concerts to include a surcharge to cover the cost of policing such events.
It also calls for an end to the separation between hard and soft drugs and the distribution of heroin to addicts on medical advice. The brothel licencing scheme would also be scrapped, if the ChristenUnie had its way.
