Insurance company Reaal expects to pay a total of €4.5m in damages claims following the attack on the royal family’s bus on Queen’s Day last April 30.

So far 118 claims have been submitted, of which 79 relate to eyewitness and television viewers who suffered shock, the Volkskrant reports on Friday.
Seven people were killed when Karst Tates drove his car through the crowd watching the royal motorcade arrive. Tates also died of his injuries. Reaal had insured Tate’s Suzuki Swift.
Family
Seven claims come from family of the victims and 20 from people who were injured.
Reaal is still investigating claims from five people who claim they are suffering shock after seeing the events live on tv. These are people who witnessed family members being killed, spokesman Wim Henk Steenpoorte told the paper.
‘The limited number of claims says something about the Netherlands… there have been very few people chancing it,’ he said.
