Labour divided over social security reforms, no manifesto pledge

The Labour party is so divided internally about reforming the social security system and redundancy law that it is unlikely to be included in the party’s election manifesto, the Financieele Dagblad reports at the weekend.


The party is due to publish its election manifesto on Wednesday. Sources have told the paper the party’s new leader Job Cohen is keen to open up discussion about making redundancy laws more flexible.
