Ajax wins first leg of Dutch cup final

Ajax won the first leg of the Dutch cup final 2-0 against Feyenoord of Rotterdam in front of a home crowd at the Arena stadium on Sunday. Both goals were scored by Siem de Jong within the first seven minutes.

The cup final has been split over two matches for the first time since the 1980s because of fears about crowd trouble between Ajax and Feyenoord fans. Away fans have been banned from the two final matches.
Earlier in the day police in Rotterdam arrested 71 Feyenoord fans who had gathered in a bar in Rotterdam city centre and began causing trouble and chanting anti-semitic slogans. Ajax supporters are nicknamed Joden (Jews).
The return leg at Rotterdam’s Kuip stadium will take place on May 6.
