TNT workers vote in favour of new pay deal
Staff at post and delivery company TNT have voted in favour of a new pay deal which will give them a 0.7% pay rise from January this year but also sanctions the loss of thousands of jobs.
The pay deal, which according to news agency ANP does not apply to delivery workers or Saturday staff, has been years in the making.
Union leader Peter Wiechman told ANP the unions would study the planned reorganisations very carefully and campaign for as few job losses as possible.
Union members earlier rejected a deal which combined a pay cut in return for job security.
