Football coach Pim Verbeek is to leave the Australian national squad after the World Cup in South Africa this summer.

Verbeek has been in charge in Australia since 2007. Prior to that he coached the South Korean team.
According to news agency ANP, Verbeek said last year he was looking for a new challenge. In particular, he has found it difficult to put together an international team on occasion because so many of Australia’s top players are in Europe.
