Diplomats don’t pay half their fines

Some half of the traffic fines handed out to foreign diplomats and embassy staff never get paid, according to Trouw on Thursday.

Of the 4,000 plus fines given to members of the diplomatic corps in the first half of last year, some 2,000 have not been paid, the figures show.
According to justice minister Ernst Hirsch Ballin, this is an improvement. Previously only 25% of fines were ever paid, he told the paper.
