Air France-KLM to take on budget airlines
Airline Air France-KLM is developing a new strategy to take on budget airlines, CEO Pierre-Henri Gourgeon says in an interview with a German magazine.
‘We are currently working on a new business model for traffic within Europe,’ he is quoted as saying.
‘We will restrict the service to what our customers want and reduce certain services such as counter check-ins.’
But the airline would not start charging extra for additional services, he said. ‘We will continue to offer a complete product… If we do not, we lose our customers to Easyjet and others.’
Gourgeon also called for better regulation of the oil markets to reduce price volatility.
