Transport minister Camiel Eurlings has ordered officials to investigate claims that car parking fees are being put up by stealth, he told parliament on Monday.

Last week a report by the national retail council showed many car parks charge fees based on 50 or 57 minutes rather than a full hour.
The ministry also wants to develop a way of giving local authorities greater say over how private parking companies manage their businesses, news agency ANP reports.
