Local authorities are slow payers
Local authorities take an average of 50 days to pay their bills, almost double the accepted 30-day limit, according to research for Nos tv.
But payments have been speeded up, Nos says. In 2008, the average payment took 93 days.
In particular, energy and water companies, staffing agencies, publishing companies and security groups have to wait longer for their money.
