Kyteman’s Hiphop Orkest has won the 2009 Popprijs, one of the most prestigious Dutch awards for modern music.


Front man and trumpet player Colin Benders (aka Kyteman) was presented with the award and a €10,000 cheque on the final day of the EuroSonic festival in Groningen at the weekend.
Benders announced the end of the orchestra at the end of last year, but has promised to come back with a new project in 2010.
