League leader FC Twente opened the second half of the football season with a 0-0 draw against Utrecht at the weekend, in what commentators said was a very average match.


The draw means that PSV Eindhoven can overtake Twente if it beats Roda JC in Tuesday’s dual.
Number three in the league, Amsterdam’s Ajax, also failed to impress at the weekend with a 1-1 draw against NAC Breda. Ajax remains nine points behind Twente.
The main season resumes next weekend.
