Eighteen MPs have already left

A total of 18 out of 150 MPs have already left parliament in the three years since the November 2006 elections, the Volkskrant reported at the weekend.

The next election is due to take place in 2011.
Most of the 18 left to take up another job in politics, as a mayor, local council executive or European MP. One, from the Christian Democratic party, left to start up a private aircraft company and two were forced to quit.
