Three jailed for gun running to Irish

Three men from Amsterdam have been jailed for up to eight years for running guns to Northern Irish criminals, Nos tv reports on Tuesday.

The three were arrested in September 2008 after police raids on homes in Amsterdam and Zandvoort. The raids uncovered a haul of 165 guns, 7,000 rounds of ammunition, silencers and other hardware.
Police found the weapons following a tip-off from the Belfast authorities. At the same time, guns and 14kgs of heroine were seized in Belfast and several arrests were made.
A woman also arrested last year was acquitted for lack of evidence.
