Man not guilty of spying on students
A 45-year-old English man has been found not guilty of spying on female students at his house in Groningen by hanging hidden cameras in the bathroom and one other room.
The man denied having used the cameras and no recordings were found by justice officials, leading the court to find him not guilty, news agency ANP reported.
Two students who rented rooms in the house complained to police after finding the cameras.
Reporting on the trial two weeks ago, newspaper Dagblad van het Noorden said the man has previous convictions for sex crimes, in both the Netherlands and the UK.
He was originally arrested on child pornography charges, an investigation which led to the arrest of two other men, one of whom is also English, the paper said.
