Economic affairs minister Maria van der Hoeven is to chair the upcoming International Energy Agency’s meeting of energy ministers in Paris, reports ANP news service on Tuesday.

Van der Hoeven was asked to chair the meeting by IEA director Nobuo Tanaka. The gathering, on October 14 and 15, will be the first time the 28 countries affiliated to the IEA will sit round the table with the energy ministers of Russia, China and India, says ANP.
The meeting is seen as an important step towards the UN climate conference in Copenhagen in December.
