Dutch tourists killed in hot air ballon

Four Dutch tourists were killed when a hot-air balloon exploded and crashed at a popular tourist spot in China on Wednesday, Chinese state television reported.


AFP reports that China Central Television said seven people were on board the balloon which exploded some 200m in the air, soon after taking off in Yangshuo, in the Guangxi region famed for its scenary.
Five of the balloon’s passengers were Dutch nationals, four of whom died in the tragedy. Three other people, including the remaining Dutch national, are in hospital. It is not known how serious their condition is.
