Finance minister Wouter Bos on Friday made a passionate plea in support of a proposal by the European Union to pay developing countries €2bn a year towards solving the world’s envrionmental problems, reports the Telegraaf.
Speaking at the EU’s climate meeting in Gothenburg, Bos said payments should start next year and could go up to €10bn annually from 2012.
Bos added that he was pleased that other European countries also support this proposal.
