Unemployment rises to 5% in August
The Dutch official unemployment rate rose marginally to 5% in the period between June and the end of August, the national statistics office CBS said on Thursday.
The jobless total has risen by 96,000 people over the past year, the CBS said.
Men have been harder hit than women. The jobless rate among women is now 5.4% up 0.8 percentage point on a year ago. The male rate has gone up by 1.6 percentage point to 4.7%.
