The swimming teacher suspected of abusing dozens of girls is also facing rape charges, the Volkskrant reports on Friday.

Benno L is said to have raped a young girl with Downs syndrome during a swimming lesson – a claim which is now included in the charge sheet, the paper says.
So far 11 sets of parents have laid charges against L. He was arrested earlier this year on suspicion of indecently assaulting almost 100 girls. Thousands of photographs were found on digital cameras and computers at his home in Den Bosch.
L will appear in court again on September 18. Police expect the investigation to take a further three or four months.
