Some 70 apartments on Rotterdam’s Noord island have been reserved exclusively for younger highly-skilled staff as a way of keeping expertise in the city, news agency ANP reports.
At the moment, many highly-skilled graduates leave the port city after completing their education and the city council has made encouraging them to stay one of its priorities.
The 70 apartments in a conservation area have been sold by the council to a property firm on the condition only people with higher levels of education can live in them, ANP says.
