Rabobank, Eureko extend alliance

Rabobank and insurance company Eureko, are to intensify their alliance and have extended their statement of intent to merge, the two groups said in a statement.

At the end of August there were reports the planned merger could be in trouble because of the financial crisis.
Rabobank Nederland CEO Piet Moerland said: ‘We attach great value to the strategic cooperation between Rabobank and Eureko.’
‘Rabobank and Eureko agree that the priority is to expand our commercial cooperation,’ said Eureko CEO Willem van Duin in the statement.
A merger between the two would create the biggest insurance group in the Netherlands.
