One in 10 pensioners lives abroad
One in 10 people claiming the Dutch state pension AOW lives in a foreign country, according to new figures from the national statistics office CBS.
Ten years ago, one in 20 pensioners lived abroad.
In total, 268,000 people have retired to another country. Most are in Belgium or Spain but a growing number live in Turkey and Morocco.
To qualify for a full Dutch state pension you must have lived in the Netherlands since the age of 15.
